Ronald J. Ozminkowski, Ph.D.

Ron Ozminkowski is Founder and President, Analytic Strategies & Consulting, LLC. He advises clients on building and developing analytic organizations, and creating data and analytic strategies and roadmaps.

Over his career, Ron has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles in professional journals, along with more than 40 book chapters and other papers in professional magazines. He has authored or co-authored over 160 conference presentations describing work by he and his colleagues for and with clients from many healthcare providers, payers, life sciences companies, and others.

Before starting the LLC in February 2021, Ron was Senior Vice President, leading the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for clients of OptumServe Consulting (The Lewin Group), a UnitedHealth Group company.

Before moving to The Lewin Group in October 2016, Ron was Vice President, Cognitive & Analytics at IBM Watson Health.  There he led the development and execution of the analytic agenda in support of AI and other products and services offered by Watson  Health.  

Before joining IBM in November, 2016, Dr. Ozminkowski was Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer in the Consumer Solutions Group, a multi-billion dollar business at Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company.

Dr. Ozminkowski is internationally recognized as an expert in the evaluation of health and productivity management programs and has published widely on these and related issues.

In previous roles Ron served as Vice President for Research and Development in the Advanced Analytics Group at Optum, where he built and led a research and reporting group serving employer and payer clients.  He also served as Director of Health & Productivity Research at The Medstat Group and as Associate Director of the Institute for Health and Productivity Studies at Cornell University. He was as a Senior Economist at Abt Associates Inc. and a Research Fellow at the National Center for Health Services Research and the Agency for Healthcare Policy and Research. His teaching experience includes work as Visiting Instructor in Health Economics at Eastern Michigan University and at Mercy College of Detroit.

Ron holds a doctoral degree in Health Services Organization and Policy from the University of Michigan Rackham Graduate School, with an emphasis in Health Economics. He also holds Masters degrees in Applied Economics and Health Services Administration, from Michigan. Ron did his undergraduate work at the State University of New York, College at Brockport, dual majoring in community and school health education. He brings a blend of these perspectives with AI to produce value for clients.
